Cooking with Basil Leaves

Growing & Storing Basil Leaves
Basil can be grown in pots, window boxes, or garden beds. It needs a lot of sunlight and water to grow well. Basil plants also need to be harvested regularly. Otherwise, they’ll stop growing new leaves.
The best way to remove basil leaves from the stem is by grasping them at the base of the stem with one hand while gently pulling them down with your other hand.
Basil should be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or wrapped in damp paper towels and stored inside a sealed plastic bag for up to 1 week. Basil will wilt if it is left out on the counter for too long.
